The Faculty of Business Studies and ICT offers a broad provision of courses for all pupils from S1 to S6. Within S1 and S2 all pupils are following a new CfE course which covers topics such as planning and running a fund-raising event, money management and budgeting, marketing and designing an App, international trade as well as looking at various software applications – spreadsheets, databases, word, powerpoint, web design, scratch animation and desk-top publishing.
In S3 pupils will be able to select from one of two options. They can follow the Business option where learners will discover how businesses operate by exploring marketing, finance, operations and human resources or the Computing and Administration option where learners will continue to develop their understanding of the different software applications.
In S4 pupils can select from a range of Accounting, Business Management, Computing and Information Science or Administration and IT at National 5 level or Business and Administration and IT at National 4 level. Computing and Information Science can be offered at National 3, National 4 or National 5 levels.
All of the above courses can progress to Higher level.
